Note to The Seventh Heaven Users: I stole this from one of my other forums. Don't freak out, it does belong to me, I'm not horribly awful that I'd steal someone else's awesome work. lol.
This is a step by step tutorial intending on explaining the customisation of your profile in plain and simple English. ^^
Step One - Selecting to View your Profile
At the top of the forum, click the small icon reading 'profile' as shown below.
Step Two- Selecting to Modify your Profile
Select the button reading 'Modify Profile'.
Step Three- Modifying Your Basic Account Information
1 You may choose to change your password if you want to. If you would like to change your password, input the new password of choice into both empty forms (boxes). Make sure that both times you enter your new password that the password stays the same.
2 You may also change your email address if you want to. Your email address is where any emails, sent via the mass email option by an Administrator, will arrive. If you choose to have the email showing,it is also what email will appear on your basic profile. Simply input the email address you would like to have things sent to into the blank box.
3 Your display name is the name that will appear to all forum members when you make a post. It is not the name you will use to log in with. For example, my display name is candichan. My name to log in and out is set to admin. Input the name you would like displayed into the box.
Step Four - Customising Your Personal Information
1 ... Pretty straight forward. Male or Female. ^^
2 You can select whether or not the rest of the forum members are aware of your gender or not. Simply select 'yes' to have your gender shown, or 'no' to have it remain hidden.
3 You location is ideally where you live. In some cases, mock locations are provided. (eg. Mormo's location is in your imagination. lawls. ) You may choose to provide your actual location or a mock.
4 Your website name is the title of your website, should you choose to provide a link to one. See the next step for further information.
5 If you have a website that is an external link from this forum, here is the place to input the site address. Please ensure that you include http:// before inputting the address.
EG:
6 An avatar is the small icon appearing beneath your name and ranking details on both your posts and yur forum profile. You may choose to have no avatar, select from one of the avatars provided, or customise your own avatar (see "Customising Avatars" thread).
7 EG: Avatar picture.
8 Please see "Customising Avatars" thread.
9 Your avatar width and height is the amount of pixels in relevance to width and height that your avatar will be displayed with. It can be no more than 100 by 100 pixels however, keep this in mind.
10 Personal text is the text appearing below your avatar. Both you and Admin are able to alter this text.
11 Please see "Customising Signatures" thread.
12 User notes are personal notes to yourself from you, or from admin. Any notes that you input can not be seen by anyone else but you. Any notes that Admin input may be seen by both you and Admin. It's a good idea to check these notes, particularly if you are under review, or have made a request to a forum administrator regarding an issue.
Step Five - Customising Instant Messenger Details
1 If you use AOL messenger, you may choose to input your screen name in the appropriate box.
eg. candichanrawks90
2 If you use ICQ, you may choose to input your ICQ number in this box. eg. 123456
3 If you are a user of yahoo instant messenger, you may input your screen name here if you wish to do so.
eg. candicesmithau
4 If you use Window live messenger, you may choose to input your hotmail or other affiliated email address here.
i.e i_like_buttered_pie@hotmail.com.
Step Six- Customising Your Account Preferences
1 If you wish to show your age to forum members, you may choose to do so here. Select no to prevent forum members from knowing your age, select yes to provide members with your age.
2 You may hide your email from forum members. Please be aware however, that Forum administrators and staff members are able to see it regardless of what option you set.
3 Mass Emails are when an administrator chooses to compose a message that is sent to every email address registered with this forum. Note: If you do not wish to receive such emails, please select 'opt-out'.
4 If you choose to remain invisible, your display name shall not appear at the bottom of the screen as an online member when you decide to log in. Please be aware that Staff members will be able to see you, regardless of your choice in this matter.
5 If you choose for the forum not to show signatures, signatures at the bottom of people's posts shall not appear. This is a wise decision to make if you are running on dial-up speed or slow broadband, as the forum threads will load faster.
6 If you choose for the forum not to show Avatars, Avatars shall not appear.This is a wise decision to make if you are running on dial-up speed or slow broadband, as the forum threads will load faster.
7 If you choose for the forum not to show images, photographs and other imagery shall not appear.This is a wise decision to make if you are running on dial-up speed or slow broadband, as the forum threads will load faster.

To select which skin to use, please click on the drop down arrow of the skins section and select which skin you wish to use. 1 Here you may select if you wish to have the forum time displayed in an am/pm format or in military hours.
EG:
am/pm: 8pm
Military hours: 20:00
2 Here you may select how your time and date are displayed to you on the forum. It may be in words and numbers, numbers only, traditional American, or Traditional British formats, just to name a few. Pick the option that you find most suitable to your needs. ^^
3 See Above. ^^
4 Locate and select what time zone you are currently located in to have the forum time displayed suitably to accomodate your decision.
5 Select whether or not you are in Daylight Savings. Think hard kids, did you put the clock back or forward last time the weather man told you to? xD
