SO, MY DEAR LOVER-LIES.
When I first bought Dirge of Cerberus, I didn't bat an eyelash. It was a continuation of the FF VII franchise, and I was all for that (even though I haven't yet finished the original game as a ROM on my computer; I was a Nintendo kid, son!).
Then I started playing and was like, "OH EFF. THIS IS A SHOOTER."
And I'm really bad at shooters.
The interesting thing about DoC is that it is so vastly different from any of the other Final Fantasy games I've encountered. And I'm not too sure if it was supposed to be an experiment (to see how people liked it after they inevitably bought it since it had a FFVII stamped on it), or a little foreshadowing for future games.
Dear God, I hope not. D:
Give me your thoughts on this oddity of DoC.
(Ah do like mah Nero. )

OMG - I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I've never played a first-person shooter before (well, I tried once and SUCKED!) and was a little disappointed when I found out DoC was one. But, it was FF7, so I had to.
I tried to play and, just as expected, I sucked. I bought the strategy guide (like I mentioned before, I must own as much to do with FF7 as possible) in hopes that it would help me, but seemingly I suck so much that a frickin' book that tells you how to rock wasn't any help to me.
Really, I just want to know the story. I kinda like Vincent and wanted to know where this story went (and see the cool CG cutscene with Cloud *drools*) just so I can say I know the whole story, but I really can't get through it. I get frustrated after, like fifteen minutes of playing. I wish there was somewhere where I can 'watch' the game instead of 'play' the game...
