So how was the holiday, guys? Did you have as much fun as I did? I got to watch my bf get overwhelmed by one side of my family--one. Of course, it was the adopted side, lol, and he'd only seen them well-behaved at my sister's wedding before, so no wonder he wasn't prepared for that. (At one point, Jerry walked up to him, looked at his plate, and said, "That plate has a problem." We both knew what was coming next. "It's empty." XD) My grandmother shocked both of us--she's been short on money for longer than we have--by handing us a fifty for Christmas. My grandpa's in Missouri right now, guess he took a bus trip with someone. Not sure why. We both 'bout cried hanging up, 'cause we've missed each other so much. My dad's got a cold and is also rather low on money, but I guess he's enjoyed his holiday as well. Been a while since we've talked, but we caught up fairly well. My mom's still stressed, but then living in a house with four males who don't clean thoroughly save maybe once a year if they can help it...I'd be stressed too. Guess the plan is to visit my step dad's parents for Christmas-ness today, which is to say this afternoon, because none of them get up before noon if they have a choice normally. My bf's family...well, it was his mother's first Christmas away from her kids, so we called and talked to her a few times to make it easier. His younger sister's pregnant--and very much enthralled with the new blanket her bro and I got for her. His older sister was on a limited schedule and had to rush back home so her husband could work, but we wished each other a merry Christmas via text since she was on the road. So it's been a busy and entertaining holiday for me. How about y'all?

I got up about 7am to do presents with my mum and dad before I went into work. It was quite a quiet sitting (12.30 - 4) I was in from 11 - 5 to set up before and clean up after. Then I came home to my mum and dad for christmas dinner and we watched toy story 3 together. Its nice to be home in Scotland again and it was nice not to have loads of people over for dinner. Me and my mum and dad got a good catch up. Im glad to hear you and your bf had a nice day cusosu and I hope everybody else had a good time. x

I went to my nan's house, where my brother and I cop the same old tired abuse every single year. This year we stood up for ourselves, stuck together, and there was a massive fight, and...
Long story short, mum's side of the family have said they don't want us in their lives any more, and I'm no longer welcome at my grandmother's house because my brother and I are such big disappointments to the family.
BUT AMAGAD, I am happy for you guys! ;D Did you all get awesome presents? :3 I got some perfume and stuff off my daddy, that was really nice.
In other news, holy cheese n biscuits, it's new year's eve tomorrow! What's everyone getting up to? Wild parties? Booze? Naked bishy boys? Sounds delicious. >;P

For Christmas I had a brinchitis (that was great....still have it) ;D but appart from that it was a quiet and pleasant moment to share with my brother and my parents. For new year's eve...it's gonna be a fun evening with my man, my best friend and her husband. Just the four of us. I managed to save a bottle of good champagne for this night! If I can't log in before monday, I already wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Love you all!

I'm sorry your holiday didn't go well, Spop. Does it help to know that we love and support you, even if we can't be there next to you to do so in person? You RAWRK. *in an aside* Fei, don't laugh. Don't laugh. ... Okay, go ahead and laugh. You remember how all this started from the hugs of bear-ness (translation: bear hugs) anyway, right? My bf and I are getting several things we wanted, including: - The Death of the Necromancer, by Martha Wells
- Wolfsbane, by Patricia Briggs
- World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion
- How to Train Your Dragon
- River Marked, by Patricia Briggs--comes out in March
Unfortunately, they're still being shipped, the ones that are released already. So now we have to wait for UPS to deliver things to us when it just snowed and our valley suffered near-blizzard conditions (which would have been delightful if we'd been able to enjoy it instead of trying to keep schedules and find jobs again). What? I'm a snow-child! Born in January when the due date was in February! My dad tried to take me hunting before I was a full year old! And my mother threw a fit, of course, lol, but my dad's whole side of the family loves the cold (or loved in the case of my grandmother, who had no problems with it until after she had my dad). Oh, and we got some money to help us out with costs, which was a blessing. And my mom and step dad may be getting us a copy of Despicable Me, which both of us thought looked like it would be amusing. I hope the rest of you had holidays as enjoyable. Although we don't particularly have plans for New Year's Eve or anything. But then my family's always been of the mind that it's not when you're together, but rather WHO is there with you. We'd rather have more family around us than tons of presents. *looks around* And friends are the family you choose, right? *bear hugs* You guys are awesome!

Try not to be too bothered by this and never forget we're here *shows heart* even if we're not here *shows the ground at your feet*. Luthie, I hope you enjoyed your holidays even if you've been working almost all the time. May Shakespeare inspire you for this new semester. Maybe this thread should have been called Holidays? Lol. Yes, I did RAWRK, Fei. In reference to Spop, if I recall correctly. Did everyone have a happy New Year? My mom's side of the family had our delayed Christmas gathering. Saw a couple cousins again, and my mom and bros and step dad and his parents. And we ate out at Rib City, which was delicious and quite welcome.
